A big advantage of Donnersbachtal is its location in the Austrian state of Styria, not far from Salzburgerland. You pass the border crossing at Passau and thus avoid Munich. As a result, even in high season, you'll drive towards your holiday traffic jam-free! The accommodation in Donnersbachwald is located on a gentle slope with breathtaking views. With its fantastic location near the Riesneralm valley station, the park offers direct access to nature and a babbling brook.
The Austrian winter transforms the area into a fairyland with two snow-sure ski areas, Riesneralm and Planneralm, together accounting for 50 km of slopes. For families, the child-friendly Riesneralm is ideal. Looking for variety? Try the natural toboggan run or cross-country trails close to the chalet.
Summer reveals a different kind of magic with various hiking trails, mountain huts, the challenging 5-Gipfelweg, 3D archery, the E-Enduro Bikepark and fly-fishing. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the unique Gipfel pool, at 1900 metres above sea level, and admire the 360-degree view there. Mountain lakes and streams will cool you down on hot summer days. A dream spot from January to December!

This is already the third time, and also the third cottage (always had a different one), that we have booked at Riesneralm Chalets. Also this time simply top. Lovely cottage super luxurious with all the trimmings.

We were shocked and still are.We assumed that the house is pretty much alone and that there is space all around, especially to the next neighbour.Unfortunately, it is not at all as it is shown in the pictures.The pictures should be urgently updated.The next house is so close to the terrace that the neighbour can see exactly what you are eating.As far as that is concerned, the pictures definitely give a false impression.The cleanliness was not really there.

The holiday home is located in the holiday village Riesneralm Chalets, which was newly built. There are several detached holiday homes of the same size. The houses are suitable for approx. 8-10 people. We stayed here with 4 adults and our dog. Great and modern holiday home that looks and is furnished exactly as in the pictures. High quality and very clean. There is not much in the vicinity. At the Riesneralm valley station there is a kiosk at Sport Scherz with bread service and some groceries. Hiking or winter sports directly possible on foot.
You should know that the houses are really very quiet. Shopping or eating out is only possible by car. The small shop at the ski slope has quite considerable prices, there is no bakery in the village. The houses themselves are great.
A great house, perfect in the layout. We were two families with 5 children together. Everything was there that you need. We would book again. Nice contact with the owners.
