In winter, Matrei in East Tyrol welcomes skiers and snowboarders with its proximity to the Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei ski area. With vast slopes and breathtaking views, it is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. The valley station of the Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei is just 1.5 km from the accommodation. The ski bus stops right by the house and will get you there quickly, so you can leave the car at home.
In summer, the region offers a network of hiking trails leading past enchanting alpine meadows and panoramic viewpoints. The area is ideal for mountain climbing, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. Very nice landlord. Everything worked smoothly. Everything as described. We will gladly come back if there is a possibility to book at least 14 days.
The flat is very nice, very centrally located. The room was big enough and the kitchen had everything it needed. View of the mountains and nice terrace. Fireplace not used, but a nice feature. The landlords live in the house and are friendly. One drawback was the two dirty coffee machines. My husband cleaned one for over an hour, soaked parts and did several rinses. Unfortunately, the oven did not tell us which degree to set, so we had to feel it. In the shower, the water drained very badly. The mattress in one bedroom was so soft that only a child could sleep on it.
The flat was nicely furnished, as seen in the photos. The landlady was very nice and gave us some helpful tips.
Nice and spacious house, very convenient that you have your own washing machine. Good to know for the summer: the owner does not allow you to use the garden and the swimming pool. There is a private terrace/veranda with the house, but it is otherwise open. This makes it quite difficult to sit outside with young children, because you will be busy keeping them on the veranda all the time. You are more or less forced to be away from home all day when the weather is nice. Furthermore, one evening the owner went out in the garden next to the children's bedroom window to drink beer with friends, which caused noise pollution. They had to sleep with the windows closed in hot weather.
Excellent holiday home in beautiful (walking) surroundings. Do keep an eye on when (in summer) the cable cars are open.
Beautifully located holiday flat, clean, tidy and with a fully equipped kitchen. Shopping facilities and the gondolas are within easy reach or simply on the way back from the gondola. The terrace is a great place to enjoy the sun after skiing or hiking. Nice landlady who is always there for you. I would be happy to recommend it.
