This pretty holiday home in the French Auvergne has a private outdoor pool and a beautiful 1500 m² garden with flowers and trees. You can fully enjoy an unforgettable holiday with family or friends. Moreover, it is very suitable for lovers of peace and hiking, as well as for working holidays and holidaymakers with reduced mobility.
This cottage is located on the edge of the Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne, and near two "beautiful villages": Salers and Tournemire, as well as the castles of Anjony and Saint Chamant. The summits are magnificent: Col de Néronne, Puy Mary, and, in winter. You can practice cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at the Col de Légal.
Basic necessities can be bought in Saint Martin-Valmeroux, 6km away, and Salers has pleasant restaurants. But it is not necessary to move away to spend a moment of relaxation. Located in a cul-de-sac in a very quiet hamlet of 3 houses, the gîte has parking for 3 cars and a well-equipped kitchen. You will find great comfort in the three bedrooms, each with its own look: "Eloge de la Folie", "Colombe" and The beautiful star." The terrace offers a panoramic view of the hills. You can relax on the wooden beach of the swimming pool, cool off with a dip, or settle in with a snack and drink of your choice under the umbrellas. The evenings will continue on the terrace at sunset, and will end in style in front of the fireplace in the living room. There is a baby travel cot, high-chair and additional mattress (futon) available for your convenience.
This house is available for smokers as well.

Upon arrival, the front door (could not be locked) and the swimming pool (leaking due to a hole in the bottom step of the stairs) were broken. The bath also leaks, so we had to start mopping on the first evening. Although advertised for 8p, there is only 1 seat for 3 people and a dining table for 6p. There are enough chairs. Property is shared with the owner and her 4 cats. It's not mentioned anywhere, but my dogs watch and hunt so it was certainly not easy. Both house and garden are divided into compartments, which are unfortunately not really dog-proof in the garden (80cm high and wide walls that they can easily sprint over). It is well closed to the outside of the site. The owner stands at your door at every opportunity, or shouts from behind the gate that is much too low. She also does not seem to understand that rented means that it is no longer accessible to her. For example, she let the plumber in for the bath when we were not at home, and she was chatting with visitors in "our" garden when we returned from a trip. If you try to ignore them, she will stand at the door until you have to go outside. There is also a large black dog running around outside the property that attacks other dogs. That's not really relaxing, especially because he also likes to look at the entrance gate (open with pillars). I had 4 teenagers with me so I didn't have any problems with that, but the house is packed with tables with vases, pots, etc. Very authentic, but not easy as a toddler/preschool parent. The (sweltering) fireplace is also not shielded. WIFI is very weak and is switched off without consultation (only notification) during thunderstorms. TV is French-language cable only and is the size of a small computer screen. Unfortunately, the three-seater cannot be placed towards the TV due to a lack of space. Didn't read well enough on my part because it is actually stated in the advertisement, but it still clearly states that 6 of the 8 people who can sleep in this house will have a bed
